In the run up to International Womens Day, find out more about how different female artists have expressed the issues within Feminism, in the 20th century and beyond. The day will include a tour of the Claude Cahun exhibition considering ideas of gender, identity and place.
Women Artist and the Body On this day we pay homage to the women artists, who used the bodies as a mechanism for communication to claim a voice in the art world. Considering slides form the 20th and 21st century we will discuss the impact of feminism on art history and culture. In the afternoon we will work in the studio to create new art work around the themes and your own ideas in drawing, painting, mixed media or performance.
